It is with profound sorrow and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Tanya Lynn Congleton, a beacon of love and compassion, on Friday, April 19, 2024. Born Tuesday, December 26, 1972, Tanya was the epitome of a Tuesday's child, full of love, honesty, innocence and passion for everyone. An abundance of care, she was not afraid to shower you with her love and compassion. Her creativity showed through her creations of bracelets, crafts and puzzles she put together with love. She loved Michael Jackson and derived great joy from listening to his music while dancing around the house. She also loved to garden and would attentively care for the flowers she so enjoyed.
Tanya grew up amidst her enormous family in Wayne, NJ where she attended school at Schuyler Colfax. Those that knew and loved Tanya knew she was born with disabilities and challenges to overcome, but she never let that hinder her love of life. She was ever eager to be part of life and enjoyed every moment, no matter how brief, with everyone she encountered. Tanya never met a stranger. Tanya is preceded by her paternal grandparents Warren and Edna Congleton, maternal grandparents Hugh and Anne Caffrey, her parents Alan Congleton and Diane Caffrey-Patterson, her nephew Joseph "Joe-Joe" McCroy. She is survived by her daughter Monica Congleton and granddaughter Amelia "Mimi" Congleton, her siblings Diana, Alan and Aaron Congleton, and her nieces Christine and Erika McCroy, Molly and Brandy Congleton, her nephews Michael and Dusty McCroy, her boyfriend William "Billy" Berkemeyer and her dear friend Michael Pomales. Tanya leaves behind a large extended family, including many aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews as well as many friends; far too many to name but all were very dear to her heart, and she loved nothing more than to give them a big hug when she saw them. Her family was the most important piece of her life. Her face would light up an entire room any time spent with them, no matter how brief. A service to celebrate Tanya's life will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at the Gaita Memorial Funeral Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls, NJ. Tanya Lynn Congleton's life story is one of love, care and acceptance that will continue to inspire others. She will be deeply missed, and her spirit will forever bloom in the gardens of the hearts of all that had the honor and privilege of knowing her.

Tanya was definitely one of a kind! The center of her being was true love and care for everyone... even someone she might have just met on line at the grocery store. She saw only the beauty and the good in the world and in other people. You could feel the love in her wonderful Tanya hugs. She would have hugged the world if it was possible. I've never known anyone who is so completely positive, truly caring and desparate to love and help anyone she could. Rest in Peace Tanya! We will miss you! We promise to help Dinky and Mike through this and care for them as much as they loved and cared for you. A great big hug to you. I love you, Kid! ❤️

Diane as we are realizing tomorrow is never promised and our time here is precious. Live every day to its fullest. I'm so sorry you and your siblings are going through this. Tanya was a very unique person in her own way and had a way of sharing it with family and friends. She will definitely be missed. But please take comfort in knowing she is with family members in heaven that love her too.
