On Tuesday, August 31, 2021, Antonio "Tony" Genise, father, son, and brother, passed away at the age of 56.
Tony was born on March 20, 1965 to Serafino and Franca, and spent his life working in the funeral industry. Growing up, Tony was involved in the Boy Scouts and that involvement continued throughout his life with Troop 14 in Little Falls and Troop 83 in Somerville when his son became involved in scouting as well. He was a volunteer for the Little Falls Rescue Squad. Tony enjoyed spending his time being outdoors. He loved camping across the United States, spending summers on LBI, kayaking and canoeing down rivers, and skiing down the closest mountains he could find in the winter. He shared those moments with his friends and family, and instilled that same love for adventure in his children. Tony was predeceased by his father, Serafino and is survived by his mother Franca, his two children, Serafina and Luke, his brother Eugenio, sister-in-law Linda and his niece and nephew, Chloe and Matthew Genise. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of the Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church, 473 Main Street, Little Falls. Please meet directly at church. Jacqueline R. Donato, 85, of Little Falls, New Jersey, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Passaic, New Jersey, Jacqueline was raised in Garfield, New Jersey and moved to Little Falls, where she has lived for the past 60 years. Before her retirement, Jacqueline owned Belle Fleur Flower and Gift Shop in Little Falls for ten years. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Angels Church in Little Falls. Jacqueline is survived by her devoted daughter, Jacqueline Donato, cherished grandchildren, Chiarina Reilly and Mitchell Donato, and adoring great-grandson, John R. Reilly. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Alfred Donato (1969) and caring son, Alfred Donato (2018). Jacqueline was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed. Her grandchildren have fond memories of growing up in their grandma's home; memories full of love, laughter and support. Devoted wife of the late Michael Gozick who passed in 2016. Beloved mother of Debbie Drabick and Tanya G. Broome. Cherished grandmother of Devon, Taylor, Elijah, Nina, Elena, and Misha. Irina was born in Yugoslavia and came to the United States in 1949. She was a long time resident of Fairfield living there for the past 55 years. Irina was a member of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church in Little Falls as well as a member of the St. Anne Altar Society and the National Fellowship of Orthodox Christians in America (FOCA). Irina was a member of the American Sewing Guild of North Jersey and volunteered much of her time at the Willing Hearts Consignment Shop in Caldwell. Visitation will be held at Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls on Monday, August 9, 2021 from 5-9 PM with Parastas at 7:30 PM. A Burial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 9:30 AM at St. John the Baptist RO Church, 29 Weaver Street, Little Falls. Please meet directly at church. Envelopes will be provided during visiting hours for your convenience. Lenge, Frances E., (nee Graham), 93, of Little Falls, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021.
Beloved wife of the late Charles A. Lenge, Jr. Devoted mother of Keith Lenge of Little Falls. Born in Paterson, she lived in Clifton before moving to Little Falls in 1957. Before her retirement, she was the Little Falls Township Senior Citizen Coordinator and Seniors Bus Driver. She was secretary for Singac Fire Company No. 3, Ladies Auxiliary, Little Falls and was a parishioner of Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church, Little Falls. Funeral was private to the family. John James Pontillo, age 100, passed away August 3, 2021 in his home. John Pontillo was born on July 25, 1921 in Newark, NJ. He lived in Little Falls, NJ for more than 50 years and most recently for the past 3 years retained residence in Long Pond, PA. John Pontillo served in the US Army during WWII as a Military Police. He was a faithful parishioner of Holy Angels Church for over 50 years in Little Falls, NJ and was also an active member of the Little Falls Golden Age Club. He loved watching Gunsmoke and The Lawrence Welk Show. John Pontillo is survived by his sister- Rose Litterio, daughter Rebecca-Schillinger, her spouse- Paul Schillinger, daughter-in-law- Martha Tedesco, five grandchildren- David Ayres, Roger Ayres, Danielle Ayres, Andrea Rodriguez, and Melissa Tedesco, their spouses, and 6 great grandchildren- Samantha Ayres, Tyler Ayres, Justin Ayres, Devin Ayres, Emmanuel Rodriguez, and Gianluca Conte. He was predeceased in death by his wives Angeline Pontillo and Angelina Tedesco-Pontillo, step-son- Leonard Tedesco, and grandson- Paulo Rodriguez.
The visitation will be held at Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike in Little Falls, NJ on Friday, August 6th from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. Funeral will commence at St. James of the Marches RC Church in Totowa, NJ on Saturday, August 7th at 9:30 AM followed by the burial service that will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ. Saoud, Peter C., 45, of Little Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 1, 2021. Leaving behind the mother of his children, Bridget Hayes Saoud, and his two beloved daughters, Emma and Grace. Cherished son of Vivian Saoud and the late Basil Saoud. Peter also leaves behind his siblings Zaki, David, Mark and Rhonda.
Peter was born in Paterson, New Jersey. He grew up in Little Falls, lived in Rutherford with his family and recently resided in Fairfield, NJ. For the past 21 years Peter has worked in the electrical union. Peter will always be remembered for his dedicated work ethic, big heart, and contagious laugh. He loved being with his family, fishing, and golfing. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls from 5 - 8 PM. Funeral to follow on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 11:30 AM at St. Ann Melkite Catholic Church, 802 Rifle Camp Road, Woodland Park, NJ. Please meet directly at church. There will be a repast following the funeral at The Brownstone in Paterson, New Jersey- located at 351 W. Broadway, Paterson, NJ 07522.
