John Nervetti, 93, of Oak Ridge NJ, formerly of Closter NJ, went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2018. Devoted husband of the late Carla Nervetti. Loving father of daughters Elisa Dominski and husband Peter of Sparta, NJ, and Barbara Florence and husband John of Camp Wood, TX. Adored grandfather of Josiah and Dr. John Dominski, and Tara and Jared Strongosky.
Born Giovanni Nervetti in Pavia, Italy on Christmas Day, he was the youngest of 11 children and is survived by his sister Luigia and many nieces and nephews of Pavia, Italy. He was awarded a full scholarship to technical school at age eleven. The youngest in his graduating class at age fourteen, he began working as a tool and die maker to help support his large family. He even built a home for his deceased brother's family. Because of his skills he quickly rose to become a foreman with Necchi Sewing Machine Co. An accomplished self taught accordion player, John also had his own band as a young man. He moved to the United States in 1953 where he met his future wife. He worked for a few companies before founding Johner Mfg. in Hackensack in 1961 and West Milford in 1971, specializing in precision metal stamping. His motto was "If no one else can do it, we will." His customers included NASA, AT&T, Keystone Camera and many other top companies. John began race walking in his early 60's for his health and soon became an internationally ranked senior race walking champion, collecting many medals and trophies. He was a very determined person and would let nothing get in the way of his goals. His positive mindset and achievements have been a great inspiration to his entire family. He was a very generous man and he was an incredible blessing to his family and many who knew him. A long-time member of St. Joseph's Church in West Milford, John was also a very spiritual man who prayed daily. His faith and love of the Lord provided a great example for his family. A celebration of his life will be held at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, New Jersey on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 1:00 pm.

John G., 65, of Paterson, formerly of Little Falls, passed away on May 12, 2018. Beloved son of Lucille (nee Niertka) and the late John Turasik. Loving brother of Nancy Roy. Devoted uncle of a niece and nephew. Born in Passaic, John lived most of his life in Little Falls, before residing in Paterson for the past 20 years. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 6 pm at Our Lady of the Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church, 465 Main Street, Little Falls. Arrangements were entrusted with Gaita Memorial Home, Little Falls.
