What can I say? Greatest uncle ever! I was lucky to have spent time with Uncle Joe. He will be missed by many. I will remember him always for the things he did with me and taught me. He taught me to do good and spread joy by spending time with me. He made me a die hard Yankee fan. He took me to my first Yankee game, spending time with me and caring about me. We always had good conversations about everything under the sun. I will miss talking to him, being around him and all the great memories with him. I love you Uncle Joe. Thanks for your love. You will always have a place in my heart.

My condolences to Joe’s family and friends. The news of his passing was heartbreaking. I had the pleasure of meeting Joe down at the Lyndhurst tennis courts maybe 30+ years ago and also at a few 5k races. We had a group of guys (and gals) that would be regulars down the “Lyndhurst Tennis Club” and we became a tennis family so-to-speak. This group unfortunately thinned out over the years and people went their own ways. Recently, however, I would run into Joe at the Rutherford tennis courts and he would have his bucket of balls and be practicing his serve. I would also see him walking dogs around town for Precious Moments Pet Care Services. Other times I would bump into him while I was on my lunch break from school at Forest Dairy in town. No matter when our paths crossed, it was great to see him, to catch up, and to be tested! Joe would always have great sports trivia to share and challenge you! We also commiserated over the retirement of our favorite player Roget Federer, and chatted about who may win the next upcoming grand slam. Joe was genuinely one of the nicest guys I ever met and I enjoyed knowing him over these 30+ years despite gaps in seeing each other. He never had a bad word to say about anyone and I will remember his warm, infectious smile! Truly a great man!

Once upon a time two friends, Joe McGill and Joe Cupano shared a love of running. Fall and Spring weekends were often spent at 5K runs, followed by enormous breakfasts at a local diner. I tagged along to cheer them on and to enjoy the post race breakfast with my two Joe's.

We want to express our condolences to Joe’s family. Dave and I met Joe at the tennis courts many years back he was always a happy, kind individual we not only had tennis in common with him, but we also had a love of animals. We are the owners of Precious Moments Pet Care Services and Joe was not only a friend, but he also worked with us for 13 years to help take care of many dogs and cats in the area. He was so caring and protective over all of the pets that we had that it was a blessing to have him work with us each day. We spoke to Joe 3 to 5 times a week every week, we saw him several times a week, and I can honestly say that Joe never had an unkind words to say about anyone. He always had a smile on his face. He always had a positive attitude. He adored his little dog Jackie and he took care of her like she was his child. We are going to miss Joe as a friend and a coworker. I have spoken to many of the customers and informed them of Joe‘s passing, and they were all very upset. The kindness that he showed to all of their pets is something we can not replace. We are personally broken hearted, and we will remember Joe always and keep his family in our prayers.

When I heard of Joe's passaging, I thought only of beautiful memories of him and Debbie Burr. At Clifton HS, Debbie had the locker next to mine. From playing softball with and against him on
