Elizabeth Clarissa Innes (nee O'Donnell), 97, passed away February 4, 2022 in her home while surrounded by her loving family. Devoted wife of James Innes, previously deceased August 26, 1990, loving mother to Susan Felsen of Byram Township and Jayme Innes, with whom she lived the majority of her life; proud grandmother to Jayme Mulhern of Manchester and Melany McQueeny and husband Matthew of Sparta Township and adoring great grandmother to Liam and Connor McQueeny.
Elizabeth, lovingly referred to as Betty, was born on April 1, 1924 in Orange, New Jersey and was raised by her great grandmother, Anna Whelahan. After graduating in 1942 from Orange High School, she was a pharmaceutical technician before meeting the love of her life, Jim, at a New Year's Eve Party in 1945. The couple wed six months later, and Elizabeth began her favorite career as a homemaker. Jim and Betty resided in West Paterson, NJ before moving to Little Falls in 1964 and remained in the same home they both passed in. She was a brownie leader, a member of the "Do Nothing Club," and was also active in the Woman's Club of Little Falls, the Rosary Society of Holy Angels, and the Sweet Adelines. After Jim's passing she became very involved in the Golden Agers and the Jolly Senior clubs and held executive board positions in both organizations. Elizabeth was a pillar, not only in her family and extended family, but in the community and was fondly referred to as "Grandma Betty" by so many. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Jim, her brothers, Thomas and Robert, sister Mary Ann, Steven Felsen- husband of daughter, Susan Felsen, and John Mulhern- husband of granddaughter, Jayme Mulhern. She is survived by sister, Barbara, daughters, Susan and Jayme, grandchildren Jayme, Ryan, and Melany, and great grandsons, Liam and Connor. Betty will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. Following a private service, Elizabeth will be laid to rest with her beloved husband in the Mausoleum of the Calvary Cemetery in Paterson, New Jersey.
