Agnes R. Arena, 81, entered into eternal rest, March 2, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Philip Arena, Sr., she was raised in Jersey City and resided in Little Falls for the past 57 years.
An active member of Our Lady of the Holy Angels parish, she served as Eucharistic Minister and Coordinator for Homebound Ministry. She was also a member of the Secular Franciscan Order. Agnes was a devoted daughter, sister and wife. She was a loving and supportive mother and friend always willing to give of herself. All who knew her described Agnes as "the sweetest person" they ever met who always had a smile on her face and a kind word to share.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Anne Bishop, daughter Margaret Loveless and her husband Bob, and son Philip Arena, Jr. and his wife Kara. She is the cherished grandmother of Kevin Brandell and his fiance Monica Chan, Christopher Brandell, Nicholas Brandell, Rob Loveless, Amy Loveless, Michelle Loveless, Philip Arena III and Michael Arena. Agnes is the dear sister of Eugene Cribbin and Joseph Arena and a loving aunt to three generations of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 2 to 6 PM at Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 7, 2022 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of the Holy Angels Church, 473 Main Street, Little Falls. Please meet directly at church. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Angels Food Pantry. Phil, Kara, Philly, and Mikey,

We are so sorry for your loss. Agnes was always so nice to my family and treated us just like her family from day one. Her smile and laugh will be missed. Memory eternal!
