Pasquale (Pat) Corrado July 27, 1930- October 28, 2023
Pat Corrado, 93, of Cedar Grove, NJ passed away peacefully at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Wayne, NJ, surrounded by family. Pat was born in Paterson and spent his youth in Totowa. He enlisted in the Air Force and served during the Korean War era as a flying Staff Sergeant. During his four years in the Air Force, he earned the Air Medal for Outstanding Heroic Achievement during a flight emergency in 1951. His other awards include the Air Force Achievement Medal, the National Service Defense Medal, and Aircrew Wings. It was during his years in the military that he developed a lifelong love of flying and continued to fly single-engine aircrafts. At the age of 85 he started flying helicopters. Pat flew right up until a few months before his death. After the military, he earned a BA in Industrial Arts from Keane University and a Master's Degree in Administration from Montclair State University. He began his career as an industrial arts teacher at Passaic Valley High School in Little Falls, NJ. He then became Principal of both Memorial School and Washington Park School, both in Totowa, NJ. Pat was a member of the: Passaic Valley Unico Chapter, John Lookout American Legion Post, Aircraft Owners and Pilot's Association, and Passaic County Retired Educators Association. Pat loved European travel, especially trips to Italy, as well as boating, restoring vintage cars, and riding motorcycles. Pat was predeceased by his son Patrick, his parents, Louise (D'Elia) and Joseph, his brothers, Vincent and Joseph, and his son-in-law Harry Greene. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Veronica, his children Lisa Corrado, Marion Zanga (James), Tori-Anne Corrado (Erika), Dr. Paul Bisio, Lisa Judge (Michael) and grandchildren Caitlin Cook (Joseph), Michael Zanga, Dr. Hayden Greene, Ryan Bisio (Elizabeth), Kate Morris (Nickolas) and his great-granddaughter, Lou Margaret Bisio. He is also survived by his sister Mary and brother Robert and many nieces and nephews and their families. Arrangements are as follows: Wednesday, November 1, 2023 wake from 4 - 7 pm at Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls. Thursday, November 2, 2023 Mass at 10 am at Our Lady of the Holy Angels Church, 473 Main Street, Little Falls, NJ. Please meet directly at church. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Pat's name to your favorite charity.
