Robert (Bob) Freudenberg, 64, of Wayne, NJ, passed away suddenly in a tragic fire with his beloved dog Popeye on January 31, 2019. He is now at home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, which is a great comfort to his family and friends.

Bob had run many marathons, fully restored an antique 1928 truck and participated with Popeye in many car and truck shows. Bob was predeceased by his parents Richard and Jean Freudenberg. He is survived by his brother John (Susan) Freudenberg, sisters Debbie Freudenberg-Cruz (Michael) and Susan (John) Zapoluch, eight nieces and nephews, a great-niece, two great-nephews, stepmother Pat Freudenberg and many life-long and other dear friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019, from 4-8 PM at Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls, NJ 07424. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to "ADOPT", PO Box 331, Pompton Plains, NJ 07444 (Animal Dignity Organization of Pequannock Township). I wish to express my condolences for the loss of your dear Mr. Freudenberg. Gone much too soon. The God of heavens shares your loss. He provides wonderful hope for the future (John 5:28-29; Psalm 37:11, 29, 39; Revelation 21:3-5). Jesus taught us to pray for that marvelous time at Matthew 6:9-10. Please reach out your heavenly Father for the comfort that you need (2 Corinthians 1:3-4; Psalm 34:18). The link below is to a short video about His plans for your precious Mr. Freudenberg; it is my sincere wish that it will be of great benefit to you as it has been to me over the years: https://www.jw.org/finder?srcid=share&prefer=content&applanguage=E&locale=en&item=pub-imv_4_VIDEO&docid=1011214. May the peace of God be with all of you (Philippians 4:6-7).

I'm very saddened to learn of Bob's passing. He was my next door neighbor back in Denville, NJ and a friend. As teenagers, I recall Bob's love for motorcycling and his extraordinary talent as a graphic artist and sign painter. Even though we had lost touch over the decades, to this day, whenever I see well crafted hand painted graphic I think fondly of Bob and will continue to do so. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends (and Popeye). As a Christian, I am delighted to read that he has passed into the Lord's presence!

We were shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic loss of our good friend Bob & his beloved Popeye. Our relationship with Bob began as a professional one - he made a beautiful sign for us when his shop was in Boonton. That was over 25 years ago. He did many sign repairs and various projects for us over the years - he was truly a gifted craftsman! Bob could do anything! He soon became a good friend. As chance would have it, we had the opportunity to chat with him (and of course Popeye) just the evening before his passing. Bob & Popeye are at peace now, and what a blessing that they remain together in heaven! Rest in Peace Bob & Popeye - you will be missed more than you ever could have imagined.
