Born September 14, 1938, Patricia Margaret Wardrope grew up in Wayne along the Passaic River with older brothers, Richard and Robert and younger brother, Daniel. As a teen, she met Patsy DelleCava from across that same river and their love story began.
Pat graduated from Wayne Valley High School in 1957 and married Patsy during a blizzard on February 15, 1958. She became a mother to Susan, then Patrick, followed by twins, Robert and Rose and then by Lisa. Pat and Patsy made their home in Little Falls for 64 years.
With five kids running around, Pat created a warm, fun-loving, welcoming home and raised her children to be kind, considerate and hard working.
Pat welcomed sons and daughters-in-law into the family and was blessed with 11 grandchildren! The joys of her life were Jimmy, Joey, Maggie, Patrick, Max, Nicholas, Jack, Veronica, Sophie, Anthony and Claudia and recently added granddaughters-in-law, Katey and Bianca. She had many nieces and nephews that she stayed close with and was always happy to hear from.
Pat was an open and loving person. She was genuinely interested in everyone she met. She listened. She cared. She loved to laugh and hear your stories. Her family became her friends, and she loved her friends like family. Generous to a fault, it was impossible not to love her. Everyone came away from a conversation with her feeling better than before.
A devoted Grammy/Mimi, she wanted the best for her grandchildren. She enthusiastically cheered them on in life and at sporting events, dance and music recitals, school plays and bar room gigs. She loved going on vacation with them to Wildwood and enjoyed years of Sunday dinners with them.
She enjoyed her many friends made throughout her life, from high school and William Street to name a few. Pat and Patsy loved their yearly vacations to St. Maarten with their group of friends.
After raising her family, Pat worked for a temp agency for a few years. then as a real estate agent in Little Falls where she helped her children find their first homes.
An active member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and The Little Falls Woman's Club, she was always involved in charitable causes.
Patricia's warm and generous spirit took flight on November 19, 2022. She leaves behind heavy hearts but will joyfully reunite with loved ones she's missed for so long in this world.
