Yurga, Joseph, 52, of Pequannock, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife Melissa (nee Zwier). Cherished father of two sons, Joseph J. Yurga and Jesse R. Yurga. Beloved son of Carol Yurga. Dear brother of John Yurga and his wife Bonnie.
Born in Passaic, Joe lived in Pequannock for the past 18 years. Prior to that he resided in Clifton. Joe worked as a warehouse manager for MVN Associates in Elizabeth, NJ for 10 years. Joe loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a family man and a gem of a husband and father. Joe cherished riding his beloved motorcycle with his best friend and the love of his life, his wife, Missy, riding on the back with her arms wrapped around him tightly. He also enjoyed the time spent riding with his son, Joey, and was an important role model to him. He also enjoyed playing golf and rooting for the Jets with his son, Jesse. He was also very close with his mother, Carol, and his brother, John, who he also worked with for many years. Joe was a proud member of The Sons of the American Legion Squadron 174 and formed great friendships with many people there. Joe currently served as S.A.L. Commander and Road Captain for the American Legion Riders at Post 174. He also currently served as Vice Commander-Detachment of New Jersey and Detachment Executive Committee (DEC) of Passaic County. Joe adored animals and rescued both of the family's dogs in Florida and brought them back home to New Jersey. Joe had a passion and love for Hershey Park and enjoyed many fun, memorable times there with family and friends over the years. He also loved visiting his friends at the Hershey Post 386 whenever in town. Joe always had a joke or two for family and friends, and had a heart of gold. He would do anything for his wife, children, family, and the people he cared about. He was always willing to help others, loved fundraising, and gave generously to charitable contributions. Joe also enjoyed playing billiards, getting tattoos, and relaxing on his deck in the lovely backyard that he and his wife created. He was truly loved by all and will be greatly missed. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 1 -4 PM at Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls. Carol I am so sorry for the loss of you son Joe. I know it is a very heavy pain you have in your heart. I can tell you in time it does get less but the emptiness will always be with you. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I am sorry I will not be able to attend the memorial service since I have moved to Virginia to be with my son Brian and his family. I follow you on facebook so please keep in touch.

You will be greatly missed by your sisters and brothers of Hershey American Legion Post 386 and it’s riders. You and Melissa were adopted member to us. And we hope to still spend time with her and the friends we met over the years that you brought to visit. Our hearts are heavy for you being gone too soon. Ride On Brother as a member of Heavens Riders.
