Nilan, Joseph T., 67, of Little Falls, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018. Beloved husband of Marianne (nee Sheppard). Loving father of Joseph R. Nilan and his wife Krystie and Donna Bucci and her husband Anthony. Adored grandfather of three grandchildren, Leighana Ruiz, Gio Bucci, and Colin Bucci. Dearest brother of Paul and Michael Nilan.
Born in Passaic, Joseph has lived in Woodland Park, Oakland, and Totowa before residing in Little Falls four years ago. Joseph was a 20 year veteran of the United States Navy from October 1976 through October 1996. He served his country fighting in the Gulf War. Joseph worked in the maintenance department for Lowe's Home Improvement store in Paterson for eight years. He was a parishioner of St. Bonaventure's Church. 
The family will receive their friends on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 4-8 PM at Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at St. Bonaventure's Church, 174 Ramsey Street, Paterson, NJ. Please arrive at the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 52 Totowa Rd., Totowa, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Wounded Warrior Project would be greatly appreciated. Donation envelopes will also be provided by the funeral home during visiting hours.

Rest In Peace my dearest Joseph. You may be gone but will always live in my heart. We had 38 very good years, two wonderful children and three grandchildren. These are the memories that will keep me going and remembering our love for each and family.

Popi your were and will always be the best grandfather any one could have. I will always remember you and that you were always at my ball games and just to listen to me.
