J. Richard Sherman

(John) Richard Sherman Jr., 78, of Fairfield, NJ and Spencer, MA died Thursday, March 31, 2022. The Funeral Mass is Friday, April 8, 2022 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of the Holy Angels Church, 473 Main Street, Little Falls. Please meet directly at church. The family will receive their friends and family on Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 7 to 9 PM at Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls. 
Richard was a graduate of St. Peter's College, a Vietnam veteran, business owner and entrepreneur who also taught religious education at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, Fairfield. He had a love for history, politics, the outdoors, and animals especially dogs and horses. 
He was the devoted and loving husband of Linda; beloved father of Richard III, Stephen and Anna Marie; brother to Robert and Peter. He was predeceased by his wife Linda in 2007 and his brother Robert. 
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org  would be appreciated. Envelopes will also be provided by the funeral home during visitation hours.
