Henry, born in 1927 and lived 90 years. He was the oldest of three sons raised in Rutherford, New Jersey. Upon graduation from Rutherford High School, he went to Newark College of Engineering for two semesters. The Draft Board was hot on his tail when he enlisted in the Navy Air Force V-6 program as a Seaman 1st Class. Graduated Honor Man in his class and was promoted to Aviation Machinist Mate 3rd Class as an Instructor. Discharged as an Ensign Officer after World War II, he returned to NCE and earned Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Mechanical Engineering. Henry continued studies at Farleigh Dickinson University for a Bachelor Degree in Physics. He married Francis Fegley of Clifton. They bought a big eight room house in Wayne and filled it with two daughters (Edith Dumhart and JoAnne Strilec) plus five sons (Henry III, triplets Thomas, William and Richard, and Edward). After working for a number of different companies designing machinery, Henry finally settled at Picatinny Arsenal as an expert in nondestructive testing of munitions until retiring. Henry joined a number of senior citizen clubs including the Golden Age Circle of Wayne (Chaplin), AARP Haledon Chapter (VP) and the AARP Clifton Chapter. He spent many years breeding better golden yellow daffodils. His garden also had many different kinds of lilies and chrysanthemums. Henry loved ballroom dancing with his sweetheart Florence Lloyd. Henry's family will receive their friends Tuesday, March 13th from 5-6 pm at Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls. Burial will take place on Wednesday, March 14th at 1:30 pm at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, New Jersey 08562 - please meet directly at the cemetery.
